The Head Teacher and everyone at Wellgate Primary School extend a warm welcome to all new staff and children joining their school, and hope that the time they spend here will be happy and rewarding.

Wellgate Primary School has extensive grounds and within this they have a  separate Foundation Stage One building where they offer both morning and afternoon sessions catering for 26 places per session. They have four Key Stage One classes each with their own or shared carpeted quiet bay, which enables individual or group activities to take place. Each class base has its own entrance with toilets and cloakroom facilities. At the upper end of the school, they have eight Key Stage Two classes that share cloakroom and toilet facilities with their partner class.

They have a Library area within Key Stage One and this has been further developed into a lending service. They have a computer bay that hosts 16 desktops PCs, a class set of iPads as well as one per class, which are used on a regular basis to support learning. The school also has two multi-purpose halls, which are fully equipped for Physical Education, with wall bars, climbing frames and ropes.

Dining takes place in both halls, with hot meals served in the infant hall and sandwiches in the junior hall. Outside there are large tarmac playgrounds and the rest of the spacious area is grassed. There is a wooded area which we call ‘The Wild Wood’ and is a superb resource for learning.
