Darton Academy is a happy and successful senior school where students are valued, regardless of their background or ability. They treat their young people with respect, and give them all the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Their goal is for all students to leave the academy as happy, well-qualified, confident young adults who go on to excel in local sixth-forms, colleges, universities, and the wider world.
Since joining Delta Academies Trust in May 2018, significant improvements have occurred and students, staff and parents were delighted after receiving record breaking results this summer. Students are now achieving over half a grade better than their peers nationally and this will see the school as one of the most improved in the country.
Along with their focus on academic achievement, they firmly believe that opportunities beyond the classroom also play a critical part in the development and achievement of their students. These broaden horizons, grow essential life skills, build self-confidence and resilience, increase friendship groups – and they’re fun too. At Darton Academy they combine high expectations and high standards with a strong sense of kindness, inclusivity and enjoyment. Their primary focus is to instil a lifelong love of learning, and encourage all students to be respectful, determined, hard-working, confident and ambitious. It is very important to them that they maintain a close relationship with parents and carers as education is a partnership between school and home.
